A South African animated film, Ruby and Roach, made by Namibian filmmaker Erentia Bedeker of Wreckless Creative and produced by Abyss South Africa, won the best children’s film category in the Tbilisi International Animation Film Festival in Georgia. Bedeker says it is a great way to start 2021. The film is about two toys, an elephant and a cockroach, sitting in the free trade shop at an airport. Nobody wants to buy them and they feel rejected. The music for the film was composed by Mart-Marie Snyman.
