Minister of Health and Social Sevices, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, said they will not consider developing Ramatex into an additional facility for COVID-19 patients as it comes with ownership complications and is not fully owned by the City of Windhoek. Shangula however confirmed that the City of Windhoek has already made available the Rhino Garments facility in the vicinity of Ramatex which they legally own, saying his Ministry has an opportunity to develop that facility when the need arises, but they will first exhaust alternative options that are in close proximity to existing hospitals. He further re-assured the public that while hospitals are getting full, public hospitals still have the capacity to take in high care patients as well as those needing ICU beds.
