Namibia today observes National Arbor Day, a day intended to raise awareness on the importance of planting and conserving trees for the benefit of our people. In observance of the day, Chief Public relations Officer at the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Romeo Muyunda, explained to Future Media that they encourage Namibians to plant more trees as well to avoid unsustainable practices that harm our tree species such as deforestation and illegal harvesting of timber and trees.
