The Airports Company South Africa has welcomed the country’s move to a level 1 lockdown and says that it is prepared for the gradual lifting of restrictions on international flights but has warned that passengers will need to jump through extra hoops if they plan on travelling. Part of this includes no longer being allowed to enter an airport to see off family or friends, while pre-lockdown pickup and drop-off areas have also been closed, meaning people will have to head to the parkades, which may cost money and involve trying to explain to the person you are there for exactly where in the multi-storey garage you are to be found. Thankfully though, as spokesperson for Namibia Airports Company, Dan Kamati, explained to Future Media News, these regulations do not apply at our airports.
