Health and Social Services Minister Dr. Kalumbi Shangula confirmed that the country is experiencing a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic following a significant increase in confirmed cases over the past two weeks. Speaking during the briefing on the national response to the pandemic on Wednesday, The minister said that Namibia will soon run out of hospital bed space if coronavirus infections continue to increase at the current rate. The country recorded 363 new cases on Wednesday, which was the highest number of confirmed cases recorded in one day since the two index cases were reported on 13 March 2020.
