Following the announcement on August 28 by President Hage Geingob and Proclamation 48 on Stage 3 of the State of Emergency the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture held consultations with the Teachers Union of Namibia and it has been resolved that there will be a phased reintroduction of face-to-face teaching and learning. In terms of this reintroduction, the Ministry announced in a press release issued on Thursday 3 September 2020, Grades 7, 8, and 9 will return to school in all regions other than the Khomas Region on Monday 7 September, Grades 4,5, and 6 will reopen across the country on Monday 14 September, while Grade 7, 8, and 9 learners from the Khomas Region will also resume classes on the same day. Pre-primary to Grade 3 learners will only resume face-to-face instruction on Monday 21 September.
