Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni on Wednesday commissioned the electrification project phase two in Windhoek’s Havana informal settlement as part of Government and the City of Windhoek’s informal settlements upgrade. Uutoni, the Namibia Press Agency reports, said government, through the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, provided funding to the City of Windhoek in the amount of N$ 15 million towards capital projects for the 2019/20 financial year. Speaking at the same occasion, City of Windhoek Mayor, Fransina Kahungu said access to electricity has become a need and not a luxury anymore.
