A report by two UN agencies has warned about an increase in acute hunger around the world. According to FSN, the report says 22 million people in the Democratic Republic of Congo are facing a hunger crisis, the highest number recorded in a single country. Voice of America further reports that United Nations officials worry that the DRC might overtake Yemen as the biggest hunger emergency in the world. The WFP says it needs $172 million to support short-term food requirements in Congo.
