A young American was sentenced to 25 years in prison for setting three historically Black churches on fire. Twenty-one-year-old Holden Matthews admitted to burning the churches in St Landry Parish in Louisiana within nine days in March and April last year. The federal court in Lafayette found him guilty of arson and hate crimes, also fining him more than N$43 million. According to Reuters, Matthews is said to have had a relationship with so-called black metal music that has an association with church burnings.
