South Africa’s Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, says a humanitarian crisis appears to be unfolding on the country’s borders as long queues of desperate Zimbabweans wanting to enter South Africa have formed at Beitbridge, putting huge strain on the effectiveness of the border post. In an attempt to solve the problem Motsoaledi says he informed his Zimbabwe counterpart that officials at the border post will process people up to nine o’clock in the evening when the South African curfew starts. Meanwhile at the Kosi Bay border post with Mozambique 35 people were arrested earlier for trying to enter South Africa illegally.
