Environment activist group Greenpeace wants the owners of Japanese-owned oil tanker MV Wakashio to pay compensation to Mauritius after the recent oil spill. Newsflash reports that the disaster was exacerbated this weekend when the ship split in two near an area known for endangered species. Greenpeace is not impressed that the shipping company didn’t do enough to prevent environmental damage. The CEO of the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, Maryke Musson, says there are methods that can be used to combat such a spill.
