Namibia’s tourism industry has arguably suffered the most due to lock-down and the regulations put in place by the Namibian government, with not only those directly employed by the industry but also suppliers to the industry out of work. Managing Director at Gondwana Collection Namibia, Gys Joubert, told Future Media News that having visited some of these small scale suppliers and realising the true state of poverty in the country, he addressed an open letter to Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
