First Lady Monica Geingos, speaking during the virtual 2021 Amujae Leaders Induction an initiative founded by Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, said women’s presence at decision making tables should translate into policy and structural change and should not merely be about having a ‘seat at the table’. The Namibia press agency reports that Geingos added that there is a need to support women in leadership and protect them- especially public leaders- from the cruel treatment that they are often subjected to, as this, she said, determines whether more women would want to take up such leadership roles.
