The Premier of South Africa’s Free State province has been requested to take the necessary processes to deal with fires that have ravaged parts of the province since Monday while the Democratic Alliance has called for the towns of Dealesville, Boshoff, and Bultfontein to be declared disaster areas after almost 100-thousand hectares of land were destroyed. Agricultural Rural Safety Coordinator, André Van Rensburg said that while farmers have lost hundreds of livestock, pastures, fences, and other infrastructure, the fires are now under control.
