The South African government has met at length with several Covid-19 vaccine suppliers including Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson, with the Health department’s Anban Pillay saying the vaccine will be dispensed at workplaces, as well as mobile medical and vaccination centres. Pillay says while manufacturers have been asked to expedite delivery, nothing has been confirmed while the chairperson of the Covid-19 Vaccine Advisory Committee, Barry Schoub, says the committee wants to ensure equitable access to vaccines.
