Amid the crisis at many of South Africa’s border posts, the EFF is pleading for all land borders to be opened, with Member of Parliament, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi taking to Twitter to argue that the borders from Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Mozambique should be opened to all. He also wants staff to ignore the required Covid-19 tests, saying the current situation could create a humanitarian crisis worse than the pandemic. This as Botswana just issued a notice that the South African Kopfontein Border Post which adjoins their our Tlokweng Border has been temporarily closed with effect from 5th January,2021 until further notice, and the Skilpadshek Border Post that adjoins Botswana’s Pioneer Border Gate at Lobatse has been closed with immediate effect.
