Speaking at the launch of the Youth Self-employment Horticulture project at Dordabis, Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, Agnes Tjongarero said the project responds to the high-level directions outlined in the Harambee Prosperity Plan which calls for the expansion of youth participation in social and economic development. The project, the Namibia press agency reports is expected to provide 84 disadvantaged young people at the settlement between the ages of 16 to 34 years with access to business development services through horticulture over the next one-year period. It will also, according to the Minister, among others aim to ensure food security in the country, increase productivity and skills enhancement, and generate income for youths in peri-urban and rural areas.
