The DA has claimed that its newly adopted non-racialism principle, which has received backlash from inside and outside the organisation, will help fix the country, with interim leader John Steenhusen insisting that it is not only possible, but entirely necessary to fix South Africa’s unjust past by focusing on the devastating effects of the past, rather than creating further division. Steenhuisen added that sanity would eventually prevail and that many of those who now tried to paint non-racialism as a radical idea would eventually come full circle.
