The latest Namibia Statistics Agency data for July showed that China maintained the top spot as the leading export market for Namibian products, representing 40.1 percent of the total exports. The Xinhua news agency quotes NSA Statistician-General Alex Shimuafeni as saying that South Africa claimed the second spot with 18.3 percent of the total exports, while Belgium at 6 percent, Spain at 5.9 percent, and Zambia at 5.2 percent rounded out the top five export destinations. According to the statistics, Namibia’s exports in July dropped to N$5.9 billion, 23 percent lower than the N$7.6 billion recorded in July 2019.
