In a moving tribute to his slain father, the youngest son of South Africa’s late Anti-gang Unit Commander Charl Kinnear described his father’s dedication to his job as admirable. The 19-year-old thanked his father for the morals and values that he instilled in him and his brother and said that his legacy will forever live on. In the meantime community activists and residents from Bishop Lavis in Cape Town have called upon president Cyril Ramaphosa to bestow the national order of Mendi, awarded to South African citizens who have performed an extraordinary act of bravery, on the slain police officer.
