Despite South Africa’s success in enrolling children in primary school, the country struggles to keep them in school until matric, with 40%, or 2 in 5, grade one pupils not likely to make it to grade 12. To raise awareness about dropout and spur action towards addressing it, South African Non-Profit, Zero Dropout, has developed a series of illustrated and free to share posters directed at parents, caregivers and learners, and urged the country to understand both the factors that push young people out of school and the factors pulling them away.
