Amnesty International has called for a thorough investigation into the shooting and killing of a pregnant woman in Northern Mozambique by several men in military uniform. The government has blamed the shooting on armed rebels but in the video, soldiers accuse the woman of being part of a rebel group. Residents in Cabo Delgado have meanwhile said that they are forced to flee their homes to escape insurgents who are burning villages and attacking them as well as from the police and Mozambican army. Speaking to Future Media News Jasmine Opperman, director for Africa at the Terrorism Research and Analysis Consortium and an analyst at counter Terrorism think tank, the Islamic Theology of Counter Terrorism said that Namibia and South Africa is not at risk of a similar situation developing.
