AfriForum yesterday sent an open letter to President South African Cyril Ramaphosa requesting an urgent meeting with him to discuss farm murders and the future of Afrikaners as a cultural community in the country. Ernst Roets, AfriForum’s Head of Policy and Action, told Future Media News that AfriForum wants to see an end to the removal and destruction of Afrikaner statues and monuments; discrimination against Afrikaners and Afrikaans speakers in public educational institutions; hate speech and incitement by influential politicians to commit violence against Afrikaners; the stereotyping of Afrikaners as “land thieves”; and the failure to prioritize farm murders.
