South Africa’s former president, Kgalema Motlanthe warns that escalating racial tensions in the country could lead to civil war. The warning follows the murder of farm manager Brendin Horner in Senekal in the Free State. Farmers went on the rampage during the first court appearance of two suspects arrested for the murder last week. Motlanthe told Newzroom Afrika, what is happening in Senekal is very concerning. Meanwhile, Newsflash reports that the bail application of the man accused of public violence during the appearance of the accused in the Brendin Horner murder case in Senekal has been escalated to the Free State High Court. André Pienaar was denied bail this week after also being charged with attempted murder and incitement to commit violence.
